Appendix F: Filename Extensions for Uploaded Files

In order for files uploaded by the Upload Graphic, Sound, Document, etc. option to function properly, the file must be named with an appropriate filename extension. Without the proper extension, files will not be properly presented on the world wide web. A filename extension is the portion of a filename from the final period to the end of the name. For example the extension portion of the filename index.html is .html.

The following is a list of common web filetypes and the extensions to use when naming them for uploading:
