Section 4: Manager Functions for All Levels

4.1: Exit Manager Mode

Click once on "Exit Manager Mode" Function to leave the Manager Mode box and return to normal web viewing.

Exit Manager Mode

The web page you have been editing will return to the standard web page format retaining any changes you have made, and the Manager Mode box will disappear. If you enter the Manager Mode again before quitting the web browser, you will not be asked to re-enter your Manager Name and password. Just click on the check mark and the Manager Mode box will appear. If you are completely finished with the Manager Mode, QUIT or EXIT your web browser to prevent anyone from using your access privileges to change web pages. Quitting the web browser is especially important if you are using a public-access computer terminal. During a session, the web browser keeps a record of the web pages you have visited. By clicking the "back" button anyone can access the pages on which the Manager Mode box has appeared and make changes with it. Once again, after finishing your work with the HCC Manager Program, quit or exit your web browser.

Note: QUIT or EXIT your web browser to prevent anyone from using your access privileges to change web pages.

4.2: Login as a Different Manager

Authorization Failed

Clicking on "Login as a Different Manager" allows a manager to login as a different manager. Since most web browsers do not provide a convenient way of doing this, this function simply makes the browser think the session is no longer valid. On most browsers this causes an "Authorization failed" error. Do not be alarmed. This is supposed to happen. Simply select the 'OK' or 'Retry' option to bring up the Manager Authorization window that appears when first starting the HCC Manager Program. You may then enter the new username and password.

The "Login as a Different Manager" option is useful if a Manager is having access problems and someone wants to check the access privileges. If the username and password are not recognized by the HCC Manager Program, a window will appear informing you that the authorization failed (see figure above).

Username and Password

4.3: Edit Manager Information

To update your own Personal Information which the Site Manager entered when she created your account or to change your password, click once on "Edit MANAGER-NAME Info" (the MANAGER-NAME is your manager username). A new screen will appear in the browser window. Make changes to your Personal Information or change your password. The password is blind entry causing only black dots or asterisks to appear, so you will need to enter it twice as a safeguard against mis-typing. Click on the "Update Information for Manager Name" button. A new screen will appear telling you the update has been successful.

Personal Info Screen

Note: The HCC Manager will not accept an update in which required information is missing. For example, you cannot delete your email address without replacing it.

To exit the Personal Information edit screen without making any changes, click on "Go back to: page.html" in the Manager Mode box at the bottom of the page.
